ALLUMM

A 10-year-old mare, she worked non-stop pulling a garbage cart in Montevideo, she was even pregnant, about to give birth, and was separated from her baby to continue working.

Loana, a friend veterinary with a giant heart, crossed by on the streets with her and her owners...

she wanted to change her destiny.

He paid for her and her baby's freedom, Jerut , a 3-month-old, who is also at SEVS today.

The process of getting them out of that situation was very difficult and exhausting, but together we succeeded!

He has been with us since 2016.

JERUT

She came to SEVS in 2016 when she was 4 months old, very sad and malnourished. We had to bottle feed her, give her a lot of love and attention. We raised her close to the house and every day her beautiful personality stood out, small, strong and with a very funny neigh.

After months we managed to reunite her with her mother, Allumm , it was a memorable day, with many happy tears.

Thank you Loana for your perseverance, love

and for trusting us!

LINO

20-year-old horse, donated in 2014 by my best friend Pablo Strauss - also a horse trainer - as he needed special care due to blindness.

He came with Domingo and Shabatt, other horses donated to SEVS the same year, they were his guide, his eyes, his Lazarillo.

Today he looks very happy, despite not seeing, he has great hearing and smell.

Walk through the entire sanctuary as if you have a view.

He moves slowly but steadily.

APACHE

19-year-old Apaloosa horse, destined for slaughter.

When we found out, I asked my father to buy it and luckily we raised enough money to do it.

This year we saw something in one eye that started to grow very fast, the vet told us it was a tumor and we had to remove the eye to make sure it did not come back or spread. The operation was a success, he looks very comfortable and happy when before his discomfort was noticeable ... on the fifth day after the operation he was already galloping!

This operation was possible thanks to the support of the Facebook community, we shared the situation and in just 2 days we had collected donations to finance his care ...

Thank you very much everyone for your support and trust!

PATURUSU

A 3-year-old  racing horse, who had his right hand broken, and was going to be put to sleep so he would not suffer. One of his owners recalled hearing about SEVS and contacted us. When we brought it, we walked 11 hours to get to the sanctuary, step by step, on 3 legs since he did not used the injured leg. We put him in a paddock at 12 at night,

over the moonlight, we had finally arrived!

There he began his new life where he would only be a horse.

We would ask for nothing more than just his recovery!

He began to have contact with other horses that could visit him in the pasture, without hurting him. After 8 months giving him water, food, calcium, vitamins and caring for his wounds with bandages, we moved him closer to home and together with Mulan and other old horses, so that they would be gentle with him.

Over time he went from limping, jogging and even galloping!

Today he is one from the gang, he achieved what many veterinarians never believed he would achieve,

he is a miracle of love and patience.

GITANA

A 10-year-old pony rescued from the world of garbage collection trucks, very punished, with a distrustful and very scary character.

It was almost impossible for anyone to grasp her, until she met human love for the first time and his character began to change. With food and pampering she began to trust and finally felt the happiness of being part of a herd and the happiness of beeing free.

Joaquin

cortez

6-year-old Apaloosa Pony, rescued from abuse and blood traction by Rufina Diaz, an angel.

After months raised with a lot of love among rescued dogs, she realized that this was not the best place for him, it took a lot for her to detach with Joaquin, because they were friends ...

Through a friend, she met SEVS and decided that he would be happier there, with friends and family, in an environment of nature and freedom.

When he arrived at the sanctuary, the first thing he did was start stomping with happiness ... and hence his name ...

because he has a flamenco soul!
